Arnold Palmer Slushy (Iced Tea+Lemonade)

The Lemonade Brigade

What you need:

  • 4 English Breakfast tea bags
  • 1 tea kettle filled with boiling water
  • 1 cup of simple syrup
  • 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (About 8 lemons)
  • 1 lemon for zest
  • 2 cups of ice cubes
  • Ice Cream scooper or big spoon

Recipe:
Tie the tea bags together and attach them to the handle of a large pitcher. Pour the boiling hot water from the kettle, over the tea bags and into the pitcher. Set aside to steep for 5 minutes. After it has completely steeped in the hot water, place the tea in the fridge to cool. As this cools, make the lemonade slush. In a blender, add the simple syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest and ice cubes. Pulse to puree to combine. Place the lemonade mixture into the freezer for 15-20 minutes. Add ice cubes to a large pitcher or bowl, and pour in the now cooled tea on top. Then using an ice cream scoop or large spoon, scoop the lemonade slush into the same pitcher or bowl. Stir till you get the desired consistency. Serve.
