Style Watch: Our Favorite 27 Gowns from the 87th Annual Oscars
Though the 2015 Oscars have come and gone, the tea is still spilling over the fashion choices of our favorite leading ladies. I’m sure by now, you are all aware of the various scandals that have arisen due to this year’s selection of Oscar gowns, and have developed your own opinions about the bizarre post Oscars drama that has recently ensued. I think it is a travesty that these incidents have completely overshadowed the real reason why the “red carpet walk” is such a coveted honor and highly esteemed tradition; the red carpet is where society’s most accomplished creative geniuses collide to shine in one more moment of glory, before the winners are announced. Though only one selection in each Oscar category can come out on top as the winner, everyone is entitled to feel like a superstar on the red carpet. Oscar night is just as much of a coup for members of the film industry, as it is for the fashion designers that dress them, and though Elie Saab and Versace may not walk away with their own little gold man, they do have the privilege of claiming they are the choice labels of the most talented individuals of our generation, on the most glamorous evening of the year. So rather than rehash insipid gossip about Lupita’s stolen dress (now found) or the controversial remarks that ignited the now going Fashion Police feud between Guliana Ransic and Kelly Osborne, let us celebrate the work of these incredible designers that helped make this enchanting evening worth watching.
