Our 6 Favorite Looks from the 2015 MET Gala

By  |  0 Comments

Last night was a star-studded affair in New York City as fashion heavy-hitters showed off the latest in couture at the Met Gala. Each year the Met Gala marks the grand opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute’s exhibit which sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guest are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit. This year’s theme was China: Through the Looking Glass which could largely explain why a lot of our favorite celebrities showed up with either barely-there apparel, embellished floral motifs or touches of red. This is the night for the bold risk, the risqué hemlines and ornamental jewelry—and this year, a lot of ladies did not disappoint.

Here are a few of our favorite looks from this year’s red carpet for the Costume Institute’s China: Through the Looking Glass exhibit.

Beyonce in Givenchy
Obviously, Beyonce stole the show in her completely sheer Givenchy dress with a few sparse jewels to keep her goodies covered… somewhat. That with the side ponytail… and the way she was working that pony tail had us sold.

Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli
While KimYe may have been overlooked thanks to King B, we cannot just ignore the gorgeous silver and white sequins and feathers Roberto Cavalli she was rocking. You looked good Kim, a total step up from last year.

Rihanna in Pei
The Internet is having a field day with Rihanna’s outfit choice and while her gown by Chinese couturier, Pei, does resemble that of an omlette, one cannot deny the breathtaking embroidered yellow coat with a meters-long train. Riri, you sure know how to make an entrance.

Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi
Taking a few pointers from Rihanna, Zendaya hit the red carpet in this beautiful sun-motif black and red mini skirt… gown with train.

Janelle Monae in H&M
Janelle Monae has a mean cape game. This year she managed to turn heads in her signature black and white with an added cape for drama… all made by H&M. Anyone that can make H&M look like a million books is quite okay in my book.
